DaVinci Reunion

On November 8, the Sentara Hospital system hosted a luncheon, information and demonstration session for patients who had prostate surgery using the DaVinci robotic system.  Approximately 75 patients with members of their families attended and heard a series of updates focused on prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment.  A lively question and answer interaction followed the presentations.  The highlight of the function was the DaVinci robot itself.  It was on display and operational questions and hands-on manipulation experience was experienced by many of the attendees under the guidance and supervision of the operating room staff.  The meeting concluded with a strong resolution that every effort would be made to meet again in the future.
